Sunny Perch over Ascoli Piceno - We stayed in Il Roccolo for 4 nights and it provided a perfect location for exploring the Ascoli Piceno area. The cottage is beautiful, well-appointed and comfortable in every respect. At the front it commands a spectacular view of the valley and is drenched in sunshine. At the back it opens onto a lovely shaded kiwi-abor and trail up to their lovely orchards and several small pastures. Martine and David are just next door to the cottage, and they are warm, welcoming, organised and knowledgeable hosts. With maps and recommendations they oriented us to many places of interest, the best restaurants in the area, and where to get provisions. Moreover, they made us feel altogether at home. We recommend Il Roccolo to anyone planning to visit Ascoli Piceno and environs.

Thank you for the marvellous week in this wonderful place, from where you can go up to the mountains, to the sea, to the beautiful nature or ancient towns. Or just stay here and enjoy the house, garden, view and very nice and friendly owners (and Martine's fabulous orange marmalade).

Thank you for your hospitality, you were so lovely. The house is so beautiful! Exactly what we searched for and you did all to make us feel comfortable here. We have seen the competition of Quintana, the amazing fortress of Civitella del Tronto, the sulphur springs near to Castel Trosino and Castel Trosino, Force where they did handcraft of copper and the sea of San Benedetto.

wat een gastvrijheid - Eind juli 2014 hebben wij hier een week vertoefd en wat hebben we genoten. De locatie is perfect; heerlijk rustig, maar toch binnen een kwartier in de grote stad en binnen een half uur bij de kust. Het uitzicht niet te beschijven zo mooi een ook de tuin is prachtig met veel bloemen en groen. La Casetta voldoet aan onze eisen. Het is schoon, ruim en goed onderhouden. Je hebt voldoende privacy. De kinderen vermaken zich prima met de voetbaltafel en dartbord, en natuurlijk met de ezel en de kippen!! Daarnaast zijn de gastvrouw en heer, Martine en David, geweldig! Niks was teveel! Ze geven goede tips als het gaat om een dagje weg, bergwandeling of een lekker restaurant! We raden een ieder aan om een keer naar Il Roccolo te gaan, je krijgt er geen spijt van.

We had a marvellous stay at Il Roccolo and were welcomed by David & Martine with warm hospitaly which included on the last night a live demonstration of how to use a 'real' Pizza oven to rival the best of Pizzas Naples can offer! The apartment was very spacious and an ideal retreat after some long days on the road and the private outdoor garden and terrace really made us feel we were in a home away from home. Furthermore it was a bonus to have Ascoli Piceno at the bottom of the hill to top up on food and culture as and when needed as well as being able to ascend Mount Piselli when we wanted to commune with nature.
We certainly look forward to staying with Martine & David again and would recommmend Il Roccolo as a true gem.

Une vue époustouflante sur Ascoli. Des hôtes serviables et gentils. L'accueil avec du pain maison et autres attentions culinaires. La soirée pizza est top. Les hôtes sont discrets mais disponibles au moindre besoin. La maison est très bien équipée. Nous recommandons vivement cette location.
